Why is Korean sunscreen so popular?

What do SPF and PA+++ mean?

SPF measures protection against UVB rays, which cause burning. The PA rating measures UVA protection, which relates to aging and pigmentation — more plus signs means more UVA defense.

What's the difference between chemical and mineral sunscreen?

Chemical filters absorb UV and tend to feel lighter with no white cast. Mineral filters using zinc oxide or titanium dioxide sit on the surface and are often preferred by sensitive skin, though they can leave a slight cast.

How much sunscreen should you apply?

Around two finger lengths for the face and neck, applied as the last step of your morning routine before makeup. Using less than that means you get less protection than the labeled SPF.
